Why is sentinel lymph node biopsy done? What are the risks of Lymphedema?

Why is sentinel lymph node biopsy done? What is lymphedema and what are the challenges for patients with lymphedema?

This video shares that biopsy is done to ensure there is no unnecessary removal of lymph nodes from the arm. This reduces the risk of Cellulitis (infection in the arm) or Lymphedema (swelling in the arm). If the result of the sentinel node biopsy shows that lymph nodes are not involved this will reduce the risk of Lymphedema to almost zero.
